Angels, Uddingston

Hugh Stirling are currently working with Lisini Pub Co'  carrying out a root and branch refurbishment of their flagship venue Angels in Uddingston. The works involve three major extensions plus a complete refurbishment of the interior and existing roofs.

The Ubiquitous Chip, Glasgow 

Hugh Stirling have just completed refurbishing 'The Wee Bar' into a Whisky Bar, which follows numerous projects carried out within this venue over the years  for our client Colin Clydesdale (not to mention works at Stravaigin and The Hanoi Bike Shop). 
 

The Golden Lion, Stirling

As part of our ongoing refurbishment programme with Flagship Hotels, this year we have completed the refurbishment of the main bar. Copper, hardwoods, glass and stone were the main materials chosen by Ranald McColl the designer and the end result is a timeless classic.   During this year we have also carried out major roof and building repair works to the hotel.

Cadiz, Edinburgh  

A new exclusive fish restaurant develpment for DiMaggio's Group.  A very complex project in the centre of George Street, Edinburgh transforming a disused 1st floor area adjacent to the clients existing Cafe Andaluz restaurant. The project involved significant builders and sound proofing works, then a fit-out which required complex interfaces of marble, glass, metal, tiles, hardwoods and the effect is quite stunning.

Shilllings Brewing Co (fka Hortons), Glasgow 

A major 1.2m re-development of the old Hortons pub within a Grade A listed citycentre bank building for Glendola Leisure. Working with London Designers Jestico & Whiles & Edinburgh Arhitects JAL Leask Architects Hugh Stirling completely transformed what was the old Hortons/ Frankenstien's venue into one of Glasgows top licensed leisure venues,  complete with fully operational Micro Brewery

Glen Lusset, Old Kilpatrick

This was an interesting project where we were able to utilise the strengths of all our trade departments (from Roofers, builders, steel fabricators, plumbers, decorators, workshop manufactured joinery work and then on site joiners) to carry out  a fast track redevelopment of this property for Greene King which included a new cantilvered decking over the Forth and Ckyde Cannal.

Cowgate /Southbridge Street,  Edinburgh  

This is a major re-development of 8 floors of old council buildings in the centre of Edinburgh into what will eventuallly become a multi-use leisure space incorporating bars, restaurants and a boutique hotel.  The initial major structural enabling works are all currently being carried out by Hugh Stirling with full Fit-Out to follow. 


Belhaven / Greene King Plc

We continue our partnership with Greene King/Belhaven, with a number of highly successful projects completed this year, including (but not all) - Gabriels-Paisley, Armstrongs-Glasgow, The Foundry-Perth, Caledonian-Crieff, Lime Kilns -LIvingston (new Hungry Horse Development), Football & Cricketers -Linlithgow,  Black Bull -Mauchline, Wintersgills -Glasgow to name but a few.

Tent Hall, Glasgow 

Complete new roof and full internal refurbishment of flat development in the city centre.

Paisley College Campus

Working with CM Design Consultants Hugh Stirling carried out a complete refurb of student refectory area. 


KFC, Dundee 

Complete internal and external refurb for the fast food chain.

Ted & Muffy, Edinburgh 

Full refit of retail space for luxury London Shoe Brand  Ted & Muffy.  Hugh Stirling worked with London Designers Jestico & Whiles to create  a unique bespoke retail space

Raphaelle's,  Bearsden

Working with Burns Design Hugh Stirling Ltd created a unique new Italian Restaurant with highly detailed manufactured joinerywork.

The Tudor,  Airdrie

Over the past 6 Months Hugh Stirling have refurbished the Oak room and the Tudor Suite (main function room). The works involved major structural steel support works to open up the room and thereafter a new bar and complete refurb of all public areas.

Porter & Son, Argyle street, Glasgow 

Hugh Stirling ltd, working with Kained Holdings, who are responsible for Lebowskis and The Finieston, have created a new bar restaurant development in the heart of the trendy Argyle street area of Glasgow.  The development involved a complete fit-out of an old shop unit into a two level restaurant & bar operation. A significant part of the interior scheme involved a feature new mezzanine floor and stair, plus ornate metal work throughout (all carried out in-house by our own steel fabricators).

The Busby Hotel, Busby

Hugh Stirling Ltd were the Principal Contractors for the £2m re-development of this old Busby landmark following its aquistion by Manorview Hotels. The project involved major structural works to open up the interior space, a large extension to the front & thereafter a full fit out to create a reception, bar, 2 function rooms & 29 rooms, all to the highest shopfitting standard.

Platform 5, Haymarket Edinburgh 

Hugh Stirling Ltd were appointed by Belhaven Pubs Division to convert an old office space below the newly completed Tune Hotel into a new pub restaurant development.  The works involved major structural works to alter the existing concrete shell and thereafter a full fit-out to create new public areas, cellars, kitchens, toilets, etc . The project was somewhat challenging given its location in the centre of Edinburgh and being below a busy hotel; all was though completed within the original progarmme. This unit is now Belhavens best performing site in Scotland.

Hungry Horse Developments  - The Projectionist at Intu (Xscape), Breahead & The Kittoch (fka Hunters), The Oystercatcher (both in East Kilbride) & The Titan, Clydebank

Hugh Stirling have continued their partnership with Greene King Plc in rolling out their Hungry Horse Brand throughout Scotland. In 3 out of the 4 sites Hugh Stirling were the Principal Contractors for the developments directing all trades (most of which were in-house) and at The Oystercatcher we worked alongside Ogilvie Construction providing and installing all the finished shop manufactured joinerywork.

 The Overlee, Clarkston, Glasgow

Another highly successful development for Belhaven Pubs Division of the old Clark & Son pub into a new high quality pub / restaurant. With the development being on the 1st floor and practically no stopping / parking area, the project was not without its challenges, however the £.5m project was all completed on time, within the 5 week project period alllocated.  

Nonna's Kitchen,  Kirkintilloch

Working with client Peter Di Ciacca and BSD Associates Hugh Stirling Ltd were principal contractors for the full redevelopment and fit-out of a derelict canal building into a new bar, restaurant and deli' operation, complete with south facing dining terrace overlooking the canal

DADA /Itison Head offices

Hugh Stirling Ltd recently completed a refurbishment and redevelopment of DADA itisons head office, which involved an extension of their existing office into a new lower floor via a new steel spiral staircase (manufactured in house by ourselves).

CARRON GRANGE, FALKIRK

Hugh Stirling Ltd recently completed major fire reinstatement works of Carron Grange House after fire gutted the interior and destroyed the roof.  The works involved reinstatement of the orginal roof structure, slate and lead work all to the exacting standards of Historic Scotland. We shall shortly be starting the interior fit out the premises.

Belhaven Pubs Division

Hugh Stirling continue to provide a receactive and planned maintenance service for the Belhaven Pubs estate, plus carry out regular redevlopment projects, most recent one being the Black Bitch, Linlithgow.

JD Wetherspoons

As well as providing and full reactive and planned maintenance service to Wetherspoons, Hugh Stirling Ltd have recently completed major refurbishments of their two 'Wetherlodge' Scottish Hotels in Glenrothes and Inverness.

NATS (National Air Traffic Service), Prestwick 

Several significant projects carried out over the past 12 months - earlier in the year we created a new state of the art training centre for the Air Traffic Control, plus new staff canteen.  In December we completed a circa £1m project to demolish/alter the old control centre.

HARRODS  -  WHYTE AND MACKAY -  DALMORE WHISKY

Last year we designed and built a number of bespoke display units for Dalmore whisky, in particular a cabinet to display their £125k Constellation Collection of 20 bottles of Malt whisky.  We are currently  building s similar cabinet now for Harrods in London.

MACLAY PUB COMPANY

We recently completed the full refurbishment of the West Port Inn, Linthlithgow. This work involved a complete refit of the exterior and internal space,  plus an extension of the trade area into a disused cottage next door.

LISINI PUB COMPANY

We recently completed the refurbishment of the Parkville Public bar, plus are now working with Lisini at the Dalziel Park.

Snow factor, Xscape, Breahead

Working in partnership with the client & design team Hugh Stirling Ltd have completed a £600k major alteration and refurbishment project to the bar restaurant area, plus constructed a new steel bridge and an Ice Climbing Wall within the ski slope to link the snow slope to the bar area. Hugh Stirling were the principal contractor, plus provided the interior design service which involved all new finishes including bespoke furniture, chandeliers, feature timber beams, stone clad walls etc.
